The Heart of the Work:

My mission is to help you align with your whole and authentic self.
Picture a mountain range with peaks, valleys, and everything in between. Each part belongs to the mountain and is a different aspect of the same whole. Now consider how the perspective at the top would be different from the perspective at the base, and how both perspectives are valid and potentially useful. Standing on the peak, you get the broader view: you can see the big picture, see the whole for more of what it is, and more easily connect to the Greater Web of the mountain range. From the valley, you get to feel its depths, experience the mountain as a journey, and encounter new learnings through the climb.
My job is to help you navigate the shadows of the valleys, whether this represents a trauma wound, difficulties trusting yourself, challenges with boundaries, or feeling stuck in life.
I support with 1) tools that help make it easier to move forward (e.g., emotion regulation), and 2) processes that strengthens your connection to the view from the top (e.g., increasing your connection to your inner guidance and redefining the meaning of challenging events).

In the shorter term, this can look like helping you navigate through life’s storms by building tools and strategies that work better for you. Over time, we can work together so that you no longer need to “cope” through emotional pain. Instead, you can learn how to work with all feelings directly so they stop feeling so intimidating.
Whether it’s rage, shame, grief, guilt or freeze, you can come to trust that the Whole you is capable of integrating the message behind the emotion and releasing the extra activation. We do this by engaging your inner wisdom, equipping you with new resources, anchoring in your strengths, and expanding your sense of agency.

Live the Work
In the counselling profession, integrity means responsible care, honest communication, and respect for all people. To me, integrity also means that I continue to walk the path of healing. I don’t counsel one way and live life another way. I am not able to show up to life exactly the way I intend 100% of the time, but I am always healing, growing and expanding. This is what I am genuinely passionate about.

I work holistically, valuing all your ways of knowing and honouring diverse ways of accessing wisdom. This can include the domains of the: logical and rational, emotional, somatic and body-based, intuitive, energetic, cultural, and ancestral. Talk-Based Therapy
Support for individuals using talk therapy, mindfulness and customized somatic (body-based) practices. Each session is a co-creation based on your goals, boundaries, and your sense of emotional and physiological safety. Nothing is forced. I offer gentle questions, reflections, and perspectives to help you expand self-awareness, self-acceptance, and capacity to show up for yourself and others in the way you truly want.
Modalities: Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jungian Depth Psychology, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Techniques

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach that can help with PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety and depression. It utilizes bilateral stimulation (e.g., side-to-side tapping and eye movements) to reprocess past experiences in the present moment.
In other words, painful and highly activating memories become reprocessed in the mind and body, such that the memory is no longer associated with an intense emotional charge. By the end of the process, overwhelming memories feel more neutral and negative beliefs feel less believable.

Relationship Counselling
Talk therapy for couples, adult family members, and friends to strengthen communication, heal misunderstandings, and update underlying relationship patterns. Together, you’ll find new ways to meet each other's needs with greater clarity and care. The intention of each session is to help you move towards more openness, agency, and connection, both within yourself and with the person/people you care about.
Modalities: Gottman, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)
